Rex is a Renegade-class hypertuned created out of desperation in Valnain during the Garlean Civil War. It was developed from the base of the Decurion, Poten pyr Daru. The purpose of the Renegade was to safeguard the Castrum; unfortunately, as Garlemald fell, it never fulfilled its purpose and it escaped containment. It is reported that Rex is collaborating with the Garlean succession movement Vox Dominus....Due to the process in which the subject was hypertuned, its life aether was warped and stretched to contain enormous quantities of energy. The Renegade is able to operate without the need for traditional sustenance and sleeping habits in order to serve its purpose. However, it requires the consumption of life aether. Until now, records show nothing but the entire amount of a Spoken's aether is enough to sustain it for longer than one hundred and twenty hours.In addition to its hypertuned biology, the Renegade is equipped with a purpose-built magitek armor, which can provide additional weaponry, enhanced mobility, and increased power output. Although it can operate outside of the armor, the Renegade requires a life-support system in the form of a rebreather at all times, which can administer air-aspected aether into its system. Removal of the rebreather will result in a permanent shutdown of the Renegade in no more than 600 seconds.Special hardware has been implanted into the left hemisphere of the brain. It allows the subject to be controlled in a daily process known as recalibration, which rewires the thought patterns in only forty minutes.
